In December 2021, RHEINZINK received the silver certificate from EcoVadis, a leading provider of sustainability certification. The rating is intended to enable potential and existing customers to compare their suppliers with regard to defined sustainability criteria. The rating places RHEINZINK in the top quarter in its category.
EcoVadis is a globally active organisation and carries out CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) assessments in 150 countries around the world. So far, more than 50,000 companies have been evaluated. Its aim is to make CSR performance measurable, increase transparency and stimulate improvements. The assessment covers four areas: Environment, Labour Practices, Fair Business Practices and Sustainable Purchasing. Corresponding evidence must be submitted in all categories. "For us, the EcoVadis assessment and the result is an important indicator of where we stand and how we can develop further. The fact that our material is particularly sustainable is proven by our Environmental Product Declaration or the Cradle2Cradle certification. With the EcoVadis certification, we can also offer our partners transparency in our corporate actions along our sustainability strategy," explains Dr Marianne Schönnenbeck, Corporate Sustainability Officer.
The EcoVadis methodology is based on international sustainability standards (Global Reporting Initiative, United Nations Global Compact, ISO 26000). A scientific committee of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and supply chain experts monitors the procedure. RHEINZINK submitted to the rating independently for the first time in 2021.
