Sustainable architecture is shaping the future and the SANRAL Regional Office in Port Elizabeth stands as a prime example. As the first 5-star Green Star-certified office building in the Eastern Cape, it sets new standards for efficiency, sustainability and modern design.
A standout feature is the RHEINZINK prePATINA blue-grey and graphite-grey cladding, chosen for its durability, recyclability and zero maintenance requirements. Over time, its natural patina will evolve, enhancing longevity while blending seamlessly with the environment. The curved zinc elements highlight the design freedom RHEINZINK offers, merging structural resilience with aesthetic refinement.
With solar energy, rainwater harvesting and highly insulated materials, the SANRAL building is a benchmark for climate-conscious construction. As our Reference Project of the Month, it showcases how sustainable materials and intelligent design work together to create architecture that lasts for generations.
